Currently, Reverend Lomax is the Minister of Stewardship. He was ordained to the Gospel Ministry by the Quioccasin Baptist Church, Richmond, on May 18, 1997, and has continued to serve the congregation as an associate pastor. Later, he was invited to serve as an instructor at the Evans-Smith Institute. He enrolled in the Evans-Smith Institute at Virginia Union University School of Theology, completing the two-year program. Highly involved in the Quioccasin Baptist Church, Richmond, Frank began to sense that God was calling him into the Gospel Ministry.

He attended Virginia Union University, the Richmond Professional Institute, and Virginia Commonwealth University. His tenure began during the early stages of the department’s process of integration, thus he once again had to cope with the negativity of racial transition. While stationed in Georgia, he was living in an integrated society on base but in a very stringent segregated society when off base. However, the military was in the process of integration at the time he was drafted. He was born into the segregated south and attended segregated schools. The military service brought new experiences in many areas. Attached to the Signal Core and, later, the 101 st Air Borne Division, he served in both Korea and Japan. The Korean War was raging during his high school senior year and Frank was drafted into the U.S. A man of many talents, Frank Lomax, Junior’s formative years were greatly influenced by the prevailing cultural and economic constraints of his generation.Ī native of Henrico County, Virginia, he was born in December 1930, during the depth of the Great Depression and all the racial constraints and demeaning attitudes that the “Jim Crow” era embodied.īut his thirst for knowledge, coupled with parents who promoted education as a high priority in child rearing, helped Frank to develop a determination that resulted in his graduating from Virginia Randolph High School in Glen Allen, Virginia, Henrico County’s only high school for African-Americans at that time.
